
Lilian Gisesa is trained in Information Sciences having received her B.Sc. (Information Sciences) from Moi University. She has a bias towards Library Information Management and Archives and Records management in digital platforms. Her work experience ranges from being an Information Officer, Audio-Visual Archivist, Special Collections Librarian, Academic Librarian and Electronic Resources Librarian. Currently venturing into Public Librarianship. She has written on issues of ICT and conflict resolution, ICT in curating Archival information, electronic records management in institutions of higher learning, Civic information dissemination and the role of academic libraries; gender issues affecting students in institutions of higher learning among others. Currently she has keen interest on research data management and the teaching of research methods to undergraduate students.
Membership
A member of the Standing committee on ICT and E-Resources at the Kenya Libraries and Information Consortium (the one that provides e-resources for Kenyan Universities and Research Institutions) where she serves as the secretary.
A member of the Menyenya High School Board of Management, serving as the secretary to the education committee.
Patron of the Kisii University Information Science Association.
Assistant Patron to the Seventh Day Adventist students at Kisii University.
